Technical Bulletin: Storing a Boiler

WET LAYUP

1) Add the recommended slug dose of treatment.

2) Fill the boiler to the normal water line.

3) Fire the boiler to, at least, 1 psi.

4) Test the water. Make sure Boiler Treatment reading is at Maximum level and sulfite is 200 ppm.

5) If levels are not up to limits, add additional treatment.

6) Shut down boiler and FLOOD to the top of the steam dome.


DRY LAYUP

1) Drain and flush out the boiler.

2) Use fans to circulate air through the boiler to dry out as much as possible.

3) Place Boiler Lizard per instructions.

4) Close up the boiler to prevent migration of humid air.
